What They Build
PierSight is building a constellation of SAR and AIS satellites to provide persistent maritime monitoring, including all-weather imaging and vessel intelligence.
Why They Matter
SAR is a missing layer in many earth-observation conversations because it is less visually obvious than optical imagery and more operationally valuable in bad weather, darkness, and maritime settings. PierSight matters because India needs domestic radar-imaging capability for oceans, disaster response, commerce, and security. The company still has to move from demonstrations to constellation-scale reliability.
